Saturday morning was a hectic and interesting one! I woke up around 10 A.M. and hung out with my two best friends, Anna and Michelle. No one was around at Anna's house and she is always thinking of some crazy thing to do and always drags me and Michelle into it somehow. This day she had the idea to put a hard boiled egg in the microwave! Sounds pretty harmless right? I thought so too. We put it in for 10 seconds, nothing happened. 15 seconds, nothing. 20 seconds, nothing. Then, at 25 seconds the hardboil egg exploded and the door to the microwave oven flew off! It was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen considering it wasn't my house or microwave. We realized that we had to replace the microwave before Anna's mom came home from running errands! So we got some money together somehow and Michelle drove us to Target. You'd think microwaves would be pretty cheap! We ended up paying $68 for a MICROWAVE! Then, we wrapped it and put in the place of the new one, hopefully her mom will love the unexpected Christmas gift!

Day Off!
Last night as I finished up my homework and waited for dinner to be ready, the phone rang and since I have caller ID that pops up on my TV (so cool, I know) I saw it was the school! Usually, I would be the last person to answer this phone call but this time I knew there could be a slight chance that we either had the day off or a delay! As I ran to the phone I hoped it was phone call I so longed for, and IT WAS! So today on this snowy day my best friend Michelle Bambara and I were driving to our friend Jackie's house. As we approached the big hill to go to Jackie's house on the other side, the car stopped! We both looked at each other and we were not surprised at all that this would happen to the two of us. We got out of the White Toyota Camry and stared at it stuck in the snow. All of the sudden a old man out of the abyss came and helped us push the car a little bit up the hill to get the car out of the pile of snow. After we finally arrived at Jackie's house we played an old card game called BS and laughed about the happenings earlier. All in all I had an interesting but great day off!

Forts, Fun and Being a Kid Again
On Friday night after I got out of work at 9, there was nothing really going on. My guy friends just invited my girl friends and I to come over and just hang out. Right when we walked in and made our way around to say our "hello's" we walked to the back of his basement. In my friends basement he has a backroom with a mini rubber soccer field and that's where I found all my friends standing in a circle playing some made up game with a soccer ball. This instantly brought a smile to my face knowing we all still had some little kid left in us. After taking a break of playing this game, someone brought up the idea of DODGEBALL! We instantly divided into teams and grabbed anything we could to make forts. We used chairs, tables, boxes, poster boards, and even a dry eraser board as protection. Playing games like this was very different from anything we usually do but even that was so much fun. At the end of the night we all were very happy that we took a lame night and made it into something much more.

Christmas Time!
Today I realized how soon Christmas really is! As the holidays start coming I always spend more and more time with family. We all sit around and catch up on all the things we haven't been able to because of our busy schedules. Although, I obviously love Christmas because of the gifts, I also secretly love it because I can just hang out with my family. With only about 11 days till Christmas, everyone goes crazy on picking different things out for loved ones, friends, and even pets. Christmas time is filled with warm fires, hot chocolate, snowball fights, and the good times with friends and family.
Mixing It Up
On Friday my school did something actually pretty cool, we had a day called Mix It Up Day. This day was suppose to divide up the cliques and have everyone mingle with people they usually wouldn't. In lunch the head students went around to different lunch tables are talked to people they usually wouldn't. All of the students that were in charge of this wore tie dyed shirts and the back of them was something written on it that you wouldn't know by looking at the person. I saw one persons shirt that said, "I've never had a boyfriend" written on the back, and you would never guess that by looking at her. I think this was a really good attempt at showing people how making new friends is so important and can be fun at the same time. Then on Friday our whole school was supposed to wear a red shirt and jeans to eliminate all the cliques set up by the different clothes students wear. In an attempt to show how important it is to "Mix it Up" I think that the first Friday of every month we should all continue to do that. Cliques are prevelent almost everywhere and when you get older there present too but there's many ways you can help to make people more open to others.

Do High School Friendships Last Forever?
Growing up and going through high school, the more and more wise adults I come across the more and more of them tell me how my high school friendships won't last forever and that college friends are your friends for life. Now when I was in middle school all of these same adults told me the same advice about my friendships not lasting. Then before that when I was in grammar school they told me that too! Since I was in 5th grade I've had the same core of about 5 friends and seem to be continuing to prove all that advice wrong till this day. In my opinion, the length that a friendship lasts depends on the different group of people involved. Although, of course it is evident that in college almost everyone will form a new group of friends, I believe that i'll probably never find another group quite like this one. Proving this theory wrong is my father for a perfect example. My dad is 53 and he has been best friends with his best friend since he was 3 years old! They even work together today! Sometimes you need to experience things for yourself and not just believe all the advice that people tell you.
